Southland Resources (Phetchabun) Co., Ltd., a renowned natural rubber producer and exporter as subsidiary of Southland Rubber Co., Ltd., has taken a significant step toward sustainable energy by partnering with Marubeni Green Power Asset 2 (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Both have been in long relationship for rubber business in Thailand and with the merit of Marubeni’s “Cross Value” networking to renewable power developments.
As electricity tariffs continue to rise, businesses are seeking alternative solutions to manage costs while reducing environmental impact. Southland Resources (Phetchabun) recognizes the need of such whilst Marubeni Green Power stepped in with a competitive proposal combined with excellent solution that would not only address cost concerns but also promote environmental stewardship
The collaboration has resulted in the signing of an EPC Agreement with O&M Service for a solar ground mounted project with an installed capacity of 1.499 MWp located in Phetchabun province for self-consumption of the factory.
By switching to solar power, Southland Resources (Phetchabun) contributes to carbon emission potentially up to 24,750 CO2 ton equivalent throughout project lifetime.
