Driving a Sustainable Future: Majend Makcs Signs 15-Year Solar Energy Agreement

On November 27, 2024, Majend Makcs Co., Ltd. (Majend Makcs) and Marubeni Green Power (MGP) officially signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This agreement sets a fixed electricity rate for the next 15 years, ensuring that the solar energy generated by the newly installed system will help Majend Makcs achieve their long-term sustainability goals while providing stability and certainty for the future.

Majend Makcs joined TOPPAN Holdings Inc., a global leader in packaging in 2022 although it has been part of the Thai business community since 2002. Over the years, the company has always sought ways to minimize its environmental impact, and this new solar energy system is another important step in that direction. With a total capacity of 1,096 kWp, the system will power the company’s production lines, allowing Majend Makcs to reduce its reliance on traditional energy sources and decrease its carbon footprint.

This solar project reflects Majend Makcs’ commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports their mission to produce environmentally responsible materials and contribute positively to society by lowering CO2 emissions. For Majend Makcs, this is not just a project; it’s a step toward creating a more sustainable future, not only for their company but for the world around them. By embracing renewable energy, they are not only improving their operations but also setting an example for others to follow, showing that sustainable practices can go hand in hand with business success.
